Workshop: Chalk Media Abstract

Students will be able to create their own images in chalk pastel/mixed media, while being taught principles of design and composition. they then can incorporate these newly learned elements into their art pieces. Color theory and value will also be emphasized.
Materials: Supplies: 1 - 18" x 24" Newsprint pad, 1 - 24 sticks soft chalk pastels, 1 kneaded eraser, 1 - 4B pencil and 1 sheet Cason, pastel paper, (approx. size: 19" x 26") All supplies can be purchased at the SAS, at the first class. 10% discount. (Aprox. cost: $27. - $30.) If a student wishes to incorporate ink, or colored pencil or charcoal, extra supplies will be needed and can also be purchased at the SAS.
Prerequisite: All students under 18 must have completed Beginning Drawing and Into. to Pastel/color Theory course OR be able to show a proficient portfolio, indicating your skill level is ready for these courses. There are no prerequisites for adult students.
