INSTRUCTOR - Patrick Seufert
FOR AGES 13 & UP
Basic techniques of oil painting including learning how to mix colors & apply paint to canvas. Also emphasized is the proper use & handling of oil paint materials.
All students (unless you have taken classes with Patrick before) must have, at a minimum, completed the Foundation Drawing & Color Course. Exceptions are made if you are a H.S. student who can show a portfolio of work displaying a knowledge of drawing and color. (via in person, or via e-mail: pts@patrickseufert.com) Potential adult students can send images of their work (painting and/or drawing) to pts@patrickseufert.com . They can also make an in-person appointment, if they wish. Please give the instructor the opportunity to review your work before registering. Thank you.
Materials: Students can purchase ALL required art supplies at a discounted price at our studio. A complete supply list will be e-mailed to you before the first class. For those who don’t have any oil painting supplies the cost (when purchasing at the studio) is approximately $180. Supplies may be purchased elsewhere but please notify Patrick as to which brands you plan on purchasing.
INSTRUCTOR: Patrick Seufert has been teaching at the SAS for over 10 years. He received his BFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple U., Philadelphia. He is a professional artist, who developed his own unique style of painting in a hyperrealistic manner. His talents has proven to be exceptional, in that it granted him acceptance into many prestigious National juried shows, such as Allied Artists of America, Oil Painters of America and the National Oil Acrylic Painters’ Society. Over the past 15 years, Patrick’s oils have won numerous prizes, including many Best of Show, Best Landscape, First Prize in Oils & Merit Awards, across the U.S.
Mainly an urban landscape painter, he also has rendered seascapes and rural areas. An article titled “Urban Painter”was recently published in the Bucks County Magazine (Spring ‘26).
Patrick’s work is presently included in the Allied Artists International Exhibition, online.
