Oil Pastels

INSTRUCTOR - Patrick Seufert


FOR AGES 12 & UP

It is recommended (not required) that Foundation Drawing and/or Color Theory have been completed before taking a Workshop class. Please contact Mr. Seufert for more information.

DESCRIPTION: Students will learn how to apply and blend oil pastels. Building color, light, shadow and texture will be explored throughout this course.

Minimum supplies needed for this class are:

Niji oil pastels - 24ct

cold press watercolor paper pad - 9”x12” minimum

blending stumps - various sizes

A full list of supplies with prices will be available before the course begins. All supplies for this course can be purchased and picked up at the studio. Supplies are not included in the cost of the course.

INSTRUCTOR: Patrick has been teaching at the SAS for over 10 years. He receiving his BFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple U., Philadelphia. He is a professional artist, who developed his own unique style of painting in a hyperrealistic manner. His talents has proven to be exceptional, in that it granted him acceptance into many prestigious National juried shows, such as Allied Artists of America, Oil Painters of America and the National Oil Acrylic Painters’ Society. Over the past 15 years, Patrick’s oils have won numerous prizes, including many Best of Show, Best Landscape, First Prize in Oils & Merit Awards, across the U.S.

Mainly an urban landscape painter, he also has rendered seascapes and rural areas. An article titled “Urban Painter”was recently published in the Bucks County Magazine (Spring ‘26).

Patrick’s work is presently included in the Allied Artists International Exhibition, online.
