In this course students will learn how to draw, shade and understand the basics of color. Mediums include graphite pencil, charcoal, pen & ink and colored pencil.

DRAWING FROM SCREENS IS NOT ALLOWED. If a student would like to draw a image from the internet it MUST be printed. The studio does provide a Epson printer which uses high quality paper.

The schedule for this course goes as follows:

CLASSES 1-3: Render basic shapes from life using graphite pencil & charcoal.

CLASSES 2-5: Introduce pen & ink. Students pick out a black & white photo to draw from.

CLASSES 6-8: Color basics introduction using colored pencils

CLASSES 9-10: Students pick out a color photo to draw from using colored pencils. Pastel may be introduced.
